Phobias are excessive and persistent fears that are out of proportion to the actual danger. They interfere with the way people live their lives, leaving the person experiencing an overwhelming fear and need to escape the object or situation.

Phobias are extremely common and include a fear of flying, heights, needles, enclosed or open spaces, snakes, spiders etc. and even just thinking about them can feel terrifying and paralysing.
